Terms of use
These terms (the “End User License Agreement” or “EULA”) govern your use of the UltraScan app for iOS and Android and of the UltraScan PRO subscription. We have written them as simply as possible: please read them before using the app.

1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using UltraScan you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app and uninstall it. The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app for personal purposes, subject to these terms. The app is licensed, not sold: all rights not expressly granted remain with the developer.
On iOS you may use the app only on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; the app and the subscription may also be used by other members of your Family Sharing group, if this feature is available for the purchase.
You may not: copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app or attempt to derive its source code (except as permitted by mandatory law); rent, sell, sublicense or distribute it; circumvent or disable technical protection measures, ads or subscription checks; use it for unlawful purposes.
3. Your content
The documents you scan, the files you create and the recognised text remain yours. They are processed and saved only on your device: the developer has no access to them, keeps no copies and cannot recover them.
You are responsible for what you scan and share: make sure you have the right to do so, respect the rights of third parties (for example copyright, or rights over personal data contained in other people’s documents) and use the app lawfully. Copying certain documents, such as identity documents, may be subject to legal restrictions.
Backups are your responsibility. If you uninstall the app, change or lose your phone or reset your device, the documents saved in the app may be permanently lost. Export the files you want to keep or save them to your gallery.
4. UltraScan PRO subscription
The app is free with ads. The UltraScan PRO subscription removes ads and unlocks additional features (for example export to Word and text with OCR, password-protected PDFs, redaction of sensitive data, front-and-back ID documents).
- Duration: monthly or yearly, as you choose.
- Price: shown in the app, in your country’s currency, before you confirm the purchase. Prices shown on the website are for reference only.
- Payment: charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: the subscription automatically renews for a period of the same length, at the same price unless changes are notified by the store, unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management and cancellation: after purchase you can manage your subscription and turn off automatic renewal in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
- Free trial: if a free trial is offered, when it ends the subscription becomes paid unless cancelled at least 24 hours before; any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds: handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms; the developer cannot issue refunds directly. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Restore purchases: if you reinstall the app or change device using the same store account, you can reactivate your subscription with “Restore purchases” in the app.
5. Advertising and third-party services
The app relies on third-party services, each with its own terms: Google AdMob for ads in the free version, RevenueCat for subscription verification, App Store and Google Play for downloads and payments. The data they process and how you can manage your consent are explained in the privacy policy. The developer is not responsible for the content of ads or for third-party services.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to make it work well, but we do not guarantee that it is error-free or always available, nor the accuracy of edge detection, cropping or text recognition (OCR), or the quality of exported files. Always check the result: the app does not guarantee that a scan is suitable for legal, official or administrative use.
If you downloaded the app from the App Store and the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be the developer’s responsibility.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the loss of data or documents, arising from the use of or inability to use the app. This limitation does not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or to personal injury, and does not affect the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under European Union law and the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005), including the legal guarantee of conformity.
8. Apple- and Google-specific terms
If you use the app on an Apple device and downloaded it from the App Store, the following terms also apply:
- Parties. This agreement is concluded between you and the developer only, and not with Apple. The developer, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Maintenance and support. The developer is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the app.
- Product claims. The developer, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and/or use of it, including: product liability claims; any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, the developer, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any such claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer contact. Any questions, complaints or claims regarding the app should be sent to: Artisan di Domenico Mecca, Via V. Bellini n. 1, 70132 Bari (BA), Italia, [email protected].
- Third-party terms. When using the app you must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement, for example your wireless data service agreement.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and, upon your acceptance of it, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
If you use the app on Android, purchases are also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when new features are introduced or the law changes. The version in force is always published at this address, together with the date of the last update; in the event of significant changes, we will also let you know in the app. By continuing to use the app after an update you accept the new terms; if you do not accept them, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
10. Termination
The license is effective until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the app. The license terminates automatically, without notice, if you breach these terms: in that case you must stop using the app and uninstall it. Uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription, which must be turned off in the store settings.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the court of the place where you reside or are domiciled (art. 66-bis of the Italian Consumer Code, Legislative Decree 206/2005), and you retain the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. You may also use the alternative dispute resolution bodies provided for by law.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
These terms are available in several languages; in the event of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
